ENGINEERING WORK

Work you can inspect.

A selection of public contributions and technical prototypes. Each has its own scope and proof boundary: upstream contributions, working demonstrations and ongoing experiments are not the same thing.

Featured open-source contribution

Pop!_OS COSMIC Launcher

Window thumbnails across two Rust repositories.

The launcher service captures Wayland windows through COSMIC screencopy, converts shared-memory buffers to RGBA and caches the resulting thumbnails. A companion Rust/Iced frontend integration displays and refreshes them inside Alt-Tab.

The feature has been tested locally with both branches installed. Both upstream pull requests are still open and have not been merged.

RustWaylandIcedIPCSHM / RGBA

01 / Launcher service

Screencopy, buffer conversion, thumbnail cache and asynchronous result updates.

02 / COSMIC frontend

Iced image handling, Alt-Tab rendering, invalidation and a refresh round when opening the switcher.

Selected projects

Reliability, tooling and failure analysis.

Working demonstrator

Aegis Edge

Fault-tolerant telemetry

A C++ UDP state machine and Flutter HUD connected through a fault-injection proxy. The demo shows delayed data, dropped packets, loss of link and recovery without pretending stale telemetry is current.

Demo and reproducible run instructions

C++UDPFlutterFault injection

v0.1 · core and specification

Sentinel Dual-Control System

Deterministic fault handling

A portable C state-machine core with explicit INIT, NOMINAL, DEGRADED and FAIL_SAFE states. The current proof covers deterministic transitions and tests, not the planned STM32/CAN hardware platform.

AVA CausalTrace

Linux observability research

An early-stage eBPF research project investigating how low-level events could be correlated into meaningful failure timelines. Automated root-cause reconstruction remains a goal, not a delivered feature.

Further work

Algorithms and practical learning.

C/C++ Linux Debugging Labs

Practical training exercises around segmentation faults, memory leaks and use-after-free. Includes tool-driven investigation workflows.
